Making the Offer

His expertise and the market analysis of listed and sold yachts will help you identify your offer price. He will explain the terms, draft, and submit your offer with specific addendums for your yacht purchase. He will then present your offer and use his proven methods to negotiate the best price.

Offer Acceptance

Negotiations may take as many as few weeks to complete. Upon acceptance, Todd will orchestrate the buying process with the buyer. This includes coordinating surveys, sea trials, insurance, dry-docking, regulatory review, and establishing an entity that may own the yacht.

Due Diligence

The next step is Due Diligence and Conditional Acceptance from the buyer, where it is the seller’s responsibility to perform and the buyer’s option to accept the yacht for purchase. This includes sea trials, engine, mechanical, electrical, and safety inspections of the yacht.

Yacht Acceptance

Upon completion of due diligence, a list of deficiencies will be reviewed. Some will be acceptable while others will require the seller to repair or make a concession. This is called the Conditional Acceptance which is submitted by the buyer prior to closing.

Yacht Closing

Once the conditional acceptance is signed by both parties, the inspection period is complete. Preparations for closing now begin, which include drafting closing documents, binding insurance, and delivering the yacht to its handover location. On closing day, documents are exchanged, signed, and the closing is complete.
